First Things First Manifesto 2000 poster design, this poster used positive and negative space to create visual contrast. The project utilised First Things First Manifesto 2000 article as design element to practice graphic layout. ‘First Things First Manifesto 2000’ is being published in its entirety, with 33 signatories’ names, in Adbusters, Emigre and the AIGA Journal in North America, in Eye and Blueprint in Britain, in Items in the Netherlands, and Form in Germany. A poster version will be designed by Adbusters and dispatched to design schools around the world. The aim is to stimulate discussion in all areas of visual communication – in education, in practice, in the organisations that represent design’s aspirations and aims – as well as outside design.
This Niu Niu project looks at the relationship between society, lifestyle and history through Hong Kong food culture and further investigate the eating habits, food serving and food choice to reveal the characteristic of this city. Furthermore, it concentrates on Hong Kong traditional food, Dim Sum, which dumpling acts as the provocation to explore the idea of food, material and experience. Hence, the objective of this project is to utilise the quintessence of Hong Kong cuisine as design narrative, integrate into tableware as a way to authentically design for Hong Kong food culture.
